Fed, Bred and Raised tough
Starting in the spring of 2026 we will only be offering 2 year old bulls. We don’t believe in pushing animals hard to get to breeding size but rather would let them develop in a tougher setting more naturally.
At weaning we bring the bulls into the corrals for a short time before moving them back out to pasture for the winter where they have to work for what they get. Feed, water and bedding are all provided but are spread out throughout the pasture so that they have to walk around, get exercise and stay fit. They get fed free feed hay and a limited grain diet that includes around 8lbs of a barley/oats grain mix per day per bull. As yearlings they head out to the summer bull pasture and graze without any grain or extra feed from April until Dec.1 or later if the weather allows. They then get brought back home to the winter pasture and repeat the same winter program as when they were calves.
We believe this is the best way to raise and build bulls for longevity that are naturally fleshing and can withstand the conditions of a real life commercial herd.
